Also known as the Curly Hair, this is one of the most known and widely kept species in the tarantula world. Beloved for their extremely docile nature, large size, and the long blonde "fur" that gives them their name this species is great for anyone. Whether you are an expert keeper or a someone new to the hobby this is a must have for anyone's collection.

Feeding

Crickets, Dubia, and Red Runners.

If the prey is too big then pre-kill and remove any left over food the following day.

• Category - New World, Terrestrial

• Size - Females reach around 7" while males are usually smaller. This species grows at a moderate rate.

• Lifespan - Females 20+ years, Males 5-10

Care

• Temperature - Kept like most other tarantulas at 75°-85°F

• Humidity - 60%-70% is a standard range to support healthy living, a water bowl can be used but I do not use for smaller specimens.

• Housing - Being a terrestrial species they thrive in a more horizontal enclosure roughly 3 times their legspan.
